It may sound like more Total Units is better, but the more units in your "deck," the more difficult it will be to access the Unit you most want at any given moment. The higher their attack, the easier they can take down Units themselves. The more HP your Headquarters and Outposts have, the more difficult it will be for your opponents to take them out. They determine what units you can place on the board at the start of the match, how many Units you can put down at once after waiting for the ATB gauge to fill, and how quickly youl'll be able to place more units after expending ATB. Starting ATB, Max ATB, and Speed are important board features. If placed on the left, it will attack the Outpost first.įort Condor boards are about just as important to strategy as the Units you choose.Įach Fort Condor Board has unique qualities:Įach listed Materia can only be used once per battle, so boards with more Materia have additional chances to sway the course of the battle. So, if an Outpost is already knocked out on the right, a unit will be able to attack the Headquarters sooner if placed on the right. Do this strategically, and know units will generally attack only the right side if placed on the right, and vice versa.

When in battle, keep in mind you can move the cursor and place units anywhere. For example, if they're using Red units that fly, you'll want to make sure you have Blue units that can hit flying units to take advantage of its weakness. Take a good look at your opponent's units when choosing your own. Just about every unit will attack structures, but some, such as the Guard Dog, will attack only Structures - meaning, it will run past enemy units in order to attack Structures.
